The AASM Sleep Medicine Boards are around the corner. November 6th will be here before we know it! Other than the Exam Blueprints from the AASM website, and some commercial websites (e.g. Pass Machine, Boards Vitals), I have not found any reliable study guide or materials. There are a plethora of textbooks that are available through the AASM store and through Amazon, but none that I have bought or looked at (admittedly, have looked at only a few), have a bite-sized approach to learning that is more palatable for my limited attention span. The closest thing that I have found to a succinct, but thorough guide is Berry's "Sleep Medicine Pearls", which is a great book to read on an airplane, or during serious studying. I hope this blog will serve not only as a good exercise for those taking the boards this year, but will serve as a reference for future Sleep Fellows as well as non-Sleep Trained people interested in sleep.
